Shop vac

We put a shop vac on our registry, and it is so handy. Whether we want to vacuum areas that are too messy for our everyday vacuum or we want to clean our cars, a shop vac is nice to have on hand.

Tool Set

My husband and I use this tool set ALL the time! It has a nice variety of quality tools for a competitive price. We use it for simple projects like hanging up picture frames or more involved DIY projects. Either way, this toolset has been such a nice thing to have!

Lawnmower

This lawn mower has been great! One day we would love to have a riding lawn mower, but this one has proven its worth. My husband mows the lawn a lot during the warmer weather. He has had no issues with this lawn mower. It has been over two years and still runs like the day we got it.

Eco-Friendly/ Saving Money

Rechargeable Batteries and a Charger

I am an advocate for spending a little more if it means saving money down the road. Rechargeable batteries are an excellent way to save money in the long run. I recommend getting plenty of the batteries so you are not constantly rotating them whenever they are needed.

Smart Plugs

My husband and I also got these smart plugs from our wedding registry. They are pretty easy to set up and they save money by completely shutting the power connection between the outlet and whatever is plugged in. For most outlets, we only have the individual plug, but for the TV, we have the strip plug so we can plug in multiple things.

Even not considering the saving money aspect, they are convenient because you can set a timer on them and turn them on and off via your phone. For example, we use the smart plug for our AC and set a timer to shut it off in the middle of the night.

Another example is allowing our Bunn Coffee Maker to heat up. The perk of this coffee maker is that it makes a pot of coffee instantly (about 3-5min). It has this ability because it boils the water ahead of time. To do this, it has to run about 5-10min before you perk a pot of coffee. We do not need it running the whole day and turning it on in the morning defeats the purpose of the coffee perking so quickly. The smart plug turns it on first thing in the morning and runs without my husband or me plugging it in.

Reusable Bags

I cannot vocalize my love for these bags enough. I got one from the registry but ended up ordering another set because I used them often. These are nice because they are silicone and reduce the need for plastic.

Did I mention they are also freezer and dishwasher as well?!

Beeswax Wraps

Beeswax wraps are useful by cutting out the need for plastic wrap. I use them pretty often. I did have to order more primarily because my husband and I did not follow the care instructions and washed them the wrong way. As long as you follow the handling instructions, they should last a while.

Household Items

Cooler bag

This cooler bag has served multiple uses. Its primary use is my husband’s lunch box (yes, I know it is huge, lol!). But it is also great for the beach or picnics. It is large enough to fit a good amount of food and the hard inside makes it easy to clean.

Hangers

Believe me, when I tell you, it is so nice to have a closet filled with matching hangers! You can’t help but feel organized and put together, which helps set the stage for how the rest of the day will go.

Tablecloth

Do not forget a tablecloth! It’s nice to have a variety for the seasons and one for year-round. This way, if you are in the mood to switch it up, you can, but if you want to keep things consistent, then you do that too.

Pillows

Don’t forget to add pillows to your wedding registry. I recommend buying pillow inserts and then buying decorative pillowcases. This way, it’s cheaper to buy just the cases and, it requires less storage during the off-season.

Storage/ Organization Items

Wicker Baskets

I love some wicker baskets! They are wonderful for storage and decoration at the same time. I have accumulated multiple wicker baskets over the years and wish I added more to my wedding registry.

Fabric Baskets

These fabric baskets are also a nice alternative to wicker baskets. Typically, they are cheaper but still look nice. I have mine in my laundry room with extra sheets, tablecloths, and curtains. Perfect to match with other bins/baskets for the organized closet.

Clear Bins

These clear bins are very trendy and something you should include on your wedding registry. I have clear bins like these all over my house to organize anything from office supplies to kitchen items. I only wish I had gotten them sooner!

Magnetic Calendar

This magnetic calendar is great for staying organized with upcoming plans. I also like to use the weekly calendar for meal prep. It helps me stay organized and follow through with the meals I anticipate making.

Outdoor Use

Hummingbird Feeder or Oriole Feeder

This is a unique item to put on your registry, but it’s a must-have if you love nature! I recently put out both feeders and I’ve already gotten some hummingbirds!

Gardening Tools

If you plan on gardening, don’t forget gardening tools! They are great to have, even if you are not an avid gardener.

Outdoor Lights

Add lights to your registry if you have an outdoor patio area! Great for when you spend evenings outside with guests or if you host parties.

Welcome Mat and Rug

As a newlywed couple, it will feel great to have a nice welcome mat and/or rug at the main entrance. It will add to the feeling of taking part in having an inviting home.

Picnic Blanket

Add a picnic blanket to your registry if you are a picnic lover or beachgoer! You definitely won’t regret it! I get so many compliments on my picnic blanket. It’s a decent size and it folds up so nicely as well.

Other

Board Games

Games are an absolute must! I regret not having this on my wedding registry. There were so many times at the beginning of our marriage when we could have used a board game for when we had guests over.

Flowerpots

If you plan on adding plants to your home décor, put some flowerpots on your registry.

Mirror

Don’t forget a mirror! I think most people like to add longer mirrors because they are more unique, but don’t forget the decorative circular mirrors, or even the small ones.
